"At Brooke House College we understand that students have both educational and social needs. We hope that we can help them combine hard work in the classroom, with enjoyment and interaction outside it, so that their time at Brooke House becomes the experience of a lifetime."

Sports and Leisure
At Brooke House College we appreciate that as students are faced with a competitive academic environment it is important for them to have the opportunity to relax. We encourage students to live balanced lives, combining hard work with full participation in our varied programme of sporting, cultural and social activities.

In College activities include: discos, film evenings, debating nights, table tennis and pool competitions, music, drama, martial arts and aerobics sessions and full participation in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.

Sports
The College has both football and basketball teams which play against other colleges and local clubs. The College has negotiated substantially reduced rates for both membership and instruction for students at the town's squash and 18 hole golf club.
Arrangements with a nearby health and fitness centre entitle students to a reduced entry fee for weight training, sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room facilities.

Weekend Activities
Weekend activities include: go-karting, paintballing, cinema and theatre visits, horse-riding, cycling, visits to theme parks and trips to places of local historical or cultural significance. Participation in such trips is obviously on a voluntary basis.

Weekend Excursions
At Brooke House we realise that while our British and European students may obviously know Britain very well, for our students from further a field time at Brooke House lends an opportunity to really experience a new culture. Every half term therefore one weekend is given over to a two night sight seeing trip with hotel accommodation which students may participate in on an optional basis. Recent destination cities include: York, Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, Nottingham and Edinburgh.

Vacation Trips
At Brooke House we also arrange college holiday trips to Europe's most exciting, cosmopolitan and interesting destinations. Groups from the College have visited Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris and Barcelona in the last two years.

Study Trips
Specialist study visits are arranged in support of academic courses throughout the college year. Residential field courses take place in conjunction with studies in Geography and Science. Art students regularly visit galleries in London.
