English Language classes take place for all students every morning between 9.00am and lunchtime and the students have a break half way through the morning for tea, coffee, juice, fruit and biscuits. There are a total of 15 hours of English Language classes on the General English Course each week.

Students are taught by specialist English Language teachers and all teachers hold an English Language teaching qualification or possess experience and proven teaching ability. There are no more than 15 students per class and the average class size is 10. Proven methods of teaching make English language learning interesting, challenging and entertaining, encouraging the students to speak, read and write English, both in and out of the classroom. Classes are designed to build each student’s confidence and to help him or her to enjoy learning English.

Upon arrival at Brooke House, all students are tested in listening, speaking and writing and placed in the appropriate class for their English Language level. Teachers continually assess the students’ language level and students may change class during the course as their level improves.

Upon completion of their course, all students sit an exit test, which assesses the improvement they have made during their course. Each student receives a certificate detailing the extent of their improvement and a written report from each of their teachers at the end of their stay.
